I’m not sure that anyone else will actually care about these posts, but I personally find them useful. I had another good month for acquisitions—some great finds at library sales, used book stores, and eBay. I managed to locate four of the last five volumes of the out of print Great Teacher Onizuka which means I only need to find Volume 23 to complete my set! I was also thrilled to find the out of print volumes of the yaoi light novel series The Guilty. One of my favorite purchases this month was actually The Blue Hearts’ third compilation album Super Best. The Blue Hearts were an influential Japanese punk rock band from the 80s/90s and I’ve been listening to the CD pretty much nonstop since it arrived.

I am very fortunate. My local comic shop won an Eisner this year, my favorite used book store has an entire section for manga, and I have a steady job that lets me indulge. Sometimes I get very embarrassed/feel bad about how lucky I am.
