Finally, it looks like I’m starting to get my manga purchasing under control. My impulse buying was way down in March; a lot of what made it to the shelf were purchases and preorders made in previous months. The set of the first three volumes of Black Jack I actually won from a contest that Manga Village was running. There were two titles that I was particularly excited about in March, both of which are out of print. First of all, I finally was able to complete my collection of Futaba-kun Change! by Hiroshi Aro. The second title I was thrilled to come across was the first volume of Yōko Shōji’s Seito Shokun, which is very hard to find. With judicious use of coupons and gift cards, I also splurged a bit on Fantagraphics’ gorgeous Usagi Yojimbo: The Special Edition box set by Stan Sakai. It collects the first seven volumes of Usagi Yojimbo and includes a ton of additional material.
