So, I completely blew my resolution in April, which means I’m cracking down on myself for May. This means no new manga purchases with three exceptions: 1) I’m allowed to spend my gift certificates, 2) I may place bids on eBay auctions for which I receive e-mail alerts, 3) Any orders and preorders placed before May may remain in place. Anyway. One of my local Borders stores got the ax, so quite a bit of what I picked up in April I picked up there at extreme discount. And when the Tokyopop closure was announced, I made sure to fill in a few of their series. I was very excited to find a copy of the third volume of Deadman Wonderland at less than cover price since even used copies of it are going for something like $30 or more. There were also some great preorders that were released in April. I was very happy to get my new volumes of House of Five Leaves, Bunny Drop (technically published at the end of March), Lychee Light Club, and more.

Nice selections! Big love for Kingyo Used Books, Oishinbo (especially the Sake volume!), and Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei. How are you liking Deadman Wonderland anyway? The anime version looks good too, can’t wait to watch.
Thanks! Kingyo makes me want to own my own manga bookstore. I really enjoyed the Oishinbo volume for Japanese Cuisine and will probably be reviewing Sake in the not too distant future. I haven’t actually read any Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei yet, but from other people’s reactions to it, I think it’ll be a series I love. I’ve only read the first volume of Deadman Wonderland but was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I haven’t seen any of the anime yet, but it looks like it could be pretty good.
Thanks for stopping by!
